A white ceramic jug with vertical ridges sits on a small stack of books. The jug holds a few stems of dried lavender. A piece of natural linen fabric is draped loosely behind and around the books. The entire scene is set against a soft, neutral background in a minimalist, vintage-inspired style.

A Selection for a Slower Home

This curated edit is a collection of my favourite slow living and mindful home books for 2026, chosen because they offer a bit of quiet perspective. There is a simple joy in a well-made book. Since we began our journey with our restored 1930s French home, I’ve found that the right books are practical companions for the seasons.

Whether you are looking for French countryside interior inspiration, navigating your own vintage home restoration, or seeking mindful decluttering for families, these titles feel relevant and real. From the way a room settles over time to the small rituals of keeping house, these slow living book recommendations are about creating a space that actually breathes with you.

I find they sit so well alongside my free 2026 Slow & Seasonal Calendar. Both are reminders to notice the small things, like the morning light on a wooden floor or a quiet moment in the kitchen, and to let our homes unfold at their own pace.
